‘Cambridgeshire Association for Local History’ seeks to be an umbrella organisation for the whole of modern Cambridgeshire but its talks, publications and members’ interests are primarily concerned with ancient Cambridgeshire and the Isle of Ely.

A separate society, Huntingdonshire Local History Society (see below), exists for Huntingdonshire, prior to 1974 a separate county: click here.

Unfortunately it isn’t all the published volumes, excluding vol 1 and much of vol 2, including Economic History with its invaluable summary of census and railways.

The Inventories of the Royal Commission on Historical Monuments (England) are four volumes of Inventories published for Cambridgeshire (Cambridge (2 vols), North-east Cambridgeshire and West Cambridgeshire) and these too are also now available at British History Online. (see link above).
